About
Who We Are.
We are Dark Oak Studios. More specifically, we’re Andy and Kate. We met while working at the forefront of many creative projects in a client oriented, agency environment. We were able to grow our skills and knowledge collectively, and really learned how our areas of expertise mesh like peanut butter and jelly. One afternoon, the light bulb went off while enjoying some tasty moo shoo chicken for lunch. As we reveled at how well we work together, and that clients actually like us, it basically went down like this, “hey, wanna start a business?” The rest is history.
Anyway, three things you should know about us: We’re creative, we’re experienced, and we’re fun. With this mix, you can’t go wrong. Breaking it down…
Creative: With two brains similar, yet different working toward your cause, you’ll find a refreshing creative spirit that runs wild through stunning visuals, verbal expression, and integrated function. This combination of talent is one that isn’t easy to find, so we’re hanging on to it for the long haul.
Experienced: At Dark Oak, we embrace our educational and professional backgrounds, mixing our life experiences with our work for truly unique, creative output. With experience in cities ranging from Boston to London, in fields ranging from print layout to public relations, we value what we have learned along the way and bring it to the table for every project we take on.
Fun: This part is important to us. Re-focusing brand issues can be a lot of work. It can be fun, too. Enjoying it is half the battle. We truly want to make the creation process fun, and give our clients a product they can enjoy for the longevity of their endeavors — ultimately helping to realize the power of positive brand communications. (We’re so fun, we even have MySpace. If you just can’t get enough of us, you can also check us out at myspace.com/darkoakstudios)
Why We Are.
We love what we do, so that’s why we do it.
Really, we owe all of our Dark Oak gratitudes to a man named Bill Sponsler, hailing from the thriving village of Portville, New York. The day he sent Andy into the only marketing gig in town, he may not have known it, but he was sparking a revolution. Kate sat at her desk, eavesdropping, while Andy met with the man. They, too, were equally naive of what fruits the year would bring… and thus, Dark Oak Studios was born.
